With Winnipeg almost forced to trade Laine they will want to replace Laine with a Top 6 forward (WNylander) an NHL Player that can play in the bottom 6 (Engvall) and either a 1st Round Pick or a Top Prospect (Sandin).

Looks like The Leafs are trying to put together a Championship Team and getting Laine makes them that much better, they will still have to fix The Defense some probably through Trade but at Forward with this proposal they are probably the best forward unit in The NHL.

Thoughts ?

Laine a 2 way defensive superstar generational talent with strong leadership qualities won’t be moved for anything less then a 1C, Replacement, 2D and a starting goalie on ELC.

Laine for Zibanajad, Lafranier, Fox and Sheystkin.

Hellybuck would be a great backup to Sheystkin and only the jets needs matter if they don’t want to move Lafranier then to bad.

I like your reply nylander.

However the leadership was a bit far.

If I'm Chevy, (he's a real gm, I'm not, he knows more about the business) in keeping laine this season. Even if i want to trade him, which i wouldn't, his numbers are likely to impress with statsny, which would up his trade value. Even if he doesn't have an amazing season, his value won't fall far, as he's known to be an elite sniper.

I still don't think the Jet are trading Laine. Until I hear it from Laine that he wants to be traded all these proposals are just a fantasy from people trying to get their team Laine for nothing.

What a sad offer from Toronto start with Mathews and add from there Jets wouldn’t do that trade because it leaves a hole in the lineup and a 2nd line winger is a lot harder to find then a franchise C.

Adding more bodies doesn't make this trade proposal more realistic.

Laine is a special player. The Leafs spent their money elsewhere.

No one is taking Nylander in a "hockey trade". they'll take him with picks/ prospects to sweeten the deal as a cap-dump. maybe.
