I dont see McMann having value of 2 second round picks. the second trade seems ok. but moving these players doesn't solve your main issue. when you have a supposed leader showing up when he feels like it, you won't win.

McMann could fetch that potentially. His cap hit is low, he can play up and down the lineup (mind you I would keep him on your 2nd, 3rd, or 4th line), hes quick, scores in bunches (but streaky) . We will see what the market is at after the olympic break.

There haven't been many comparable trades going back to last season for defenseman with 1 year of term remaining. In June 2024 Jon Marino was traded from New Jersey to Utah for 2024 and 2025 2nd round picks (and he had 4 years of term remaining) .

In this scenario, Detroit receives a veteran top 4 right handed defenseman with another year of term remaining after this season.

St. Louis receives a 2026 1st round pick, a 2028 3rd round pick (with potential to move up to a 2nd round pick), and a roster replacement defenseman and pending UFA.

per an article army's expectation is for a 1st and 2nd. If you look at faulks stats gp53 g11 a14 p25. He is 7thin goals in the league and plays over 22 mins a night and has one more year.

Lafrenière will become a bad contract if he's not on the top 6. Suzuki, Caufield, slaf, Demidov, kapanen, Hage, Zharovsky. I dont think Lafrenière can crack that top 6 except for maybe this year and the next.

I would rather wish the best for Reinbacher even I doubt he'll make the NHL.

I know it makes sense to trade Blake Coleman while the Flames can get something for him, but the teams that are continuously mentioned have zero draft capital and anyone in the age range is under long term, expensive contracts. Maybe a list of prospects yet to crack the top level might be the way to go.
