i assume either a) nylander and notacasual didn't see that there were 2 firsts in the trade or b) they're saying it would take a 1st to give a team incentive to take neal alone
that being said yeah it would take more than that to get gibson i'd think unless you threw a cap dump going the other way to even out for neal, even then you'd need to add in a prospect like bear or bouchard at least.

That is a massive deal and Gibson is probably the only goalie in the league i'd even consider that for. Personally don’t think Anaheim could turn that down. It would speed up there rebuild by years. They’d just have to worry about getting a goalie in a couple years.

That probably wouldn’t look too good on the organization to turn around and trade Neal, especially with the way he’s playing. I’m sure there’s another way to bring Hall back and I think it would be a great idea. If they could bring Hall back with picks or prospects, I’d put them as contenders. I know you didn’t like Hall yupp but would you want him back?

As an Oiler fan I never personally liked Hall since the day he was drafted, But that was a long time ago and I would for sure welcome him back if we can sign him. I think it’s now a great hockey fit for both parties, that’s it that’s all.
To trade for him during the season, I’m not sure what I would give up.

Hall 2nd year NJ: actually did something
Hall 3rd year NJ: got hurt early. Season write off
Hall now: meh. Back to his old self.
Neal we knew was probably going to turn it around. Lucic, no. That was the best trade Edmonton has made in a very long time. No way Edmonton trades all this for Hall, who is back to where he was when he left the team. Slightly above average and underperformed for 1st overall.

I'd prefer to see Oil look at getting a star Dman or an upper echelon Goalie. I think some of the young guys coming up can round out the forwards. McDavid, Draisaitl and Hall would be the best 3 forwards any team has seen probably since. well the last time Oilers had Gretzky, Messier and Kurri.
However, they also had Furh, Lowe, Coffey ect. Its obviously a different league now,

Big Pass from Edmonton.
Taylor Hall was traded from Edmonton for many reasons. Not sure why Elliot is hinting at Hall back to Edm. perhaps for ratings.
The only way I can see Hall back to edm is an undo button on Larsson with NJ retaining 2M of Hall's salary to get him as a rental before he does his UFA hold out for the highest bidder. If he can show the organization and the fan base that he has grown up and can be a team player in his rental period, then perhaps a UFA offer for a longer deal can be discussed. No way Edmonton commits long term or commits this level of assets towards Hall until he shows them the reasons he was swooshed out are in the past and he's matured.

Ya that was the big rumor, he wanted to be the man on the team and that all changed when they won the Mcdavid draft lottery.
That was how many years ago now? Different organization and team now, few years of maturity, I believe it would be a welcome fit from both sides myself. I still don’t like Hall as a person, but the hockey player is a great fit on the team now. I think it’s very possible he comes back, but Probably unlikely.

Man, hall was traded cause he was hitting the bars up to much and bringing younger players. Being a horrible influence. If he was like McDavid off ice he'd be a hockey god, no McDavid but one of the top. And just saying I've personally seen him at the clubs during seasons while in Edmonton a lot.

I heard differently a lot of Oilers fans have spoken against Larsson. He’s awful offensively and not a great all situations defender due to his speed. He does have great zone coverage tho.

I don’t think Draisaitl has proven quite enough to be in that first tier. If he keeps on improving every year like he has been and cleans up his game a little he could end up being in the top 3/ 4 IMO.

He gives the puck away and loses to many battles to be a Selke nominee IMO. Guys like Ovi and Kane have just achieved so much but your right he did score 50 so it’s not crazy for him to be top 5.

Thunder, that’s definitely not true. Whenever the offence dries up they switch up the lines and either have Draisaitl center the 2nd line or move him back up with McDavid. You just can’t keep these two apart because there too good together.

Very untrue Turkey. The chemistry Mcdavid and Drai have on and off the ice is just too good not to play together, and having Nuge allows that. He’s been just fine when he’s run his own line.

Dont get me wrong. I'm a big fan of Drais and was really hoping he would have been my teams 1C before he signed with EDM. I just thought he was supposed to carry the 2nd line. But i do agree that his chemistry with McD is something you can't ignore. Having been said, I still wouldn't have him in my top 5. Top 10 for sure, but not top 5.
